Sometimes, to achieve something, you need to reject everything else.
The funny thing is that when I'm on board, I am in productive mode and can add on top of normal working hours as much as possible in 24 hours – sport, books, updating social media profiles, etc.
When I'm on vacation, the time is flying so fast that I barely remember what I did last week.
And as I put myself on quite a tough challenge – to pass a half-Ironman distance triathlon (1.9 km swimming – 90 km bike – 21 km run) after only 2 months of vacation – I have to focus myself only on one thing: training. No LinkedIn updates, no job thinking, nothing.
The tough point was receiving a stupid injury to my foot just one day before sign-off.
Finally, last week, I did my first middle-distance triathlon—together with family support.
And that’s the thing: think about who you want to be in front of your kids, and that will be the best motivation to change yourself.
Now I can breathe a little more freely and return to normal mode.
If you have any questions, I will be happy to discuss.
